R Gopalakrishnan studied physics at Kolkata University, engineering at IIT Kharagpur and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. He has been a professional manager since 1967. He has served as Chairman of Unilever Arabia, as MD of Brooke Bond Lipton and Vice Chairman of Hindustan Lever, as director of Tata Sons and several Tata companies. He serves as an independent director and non – executive chairman of Castrol India and also as an independent director of Press Trust of India (PTI). He is actively engaged in both instructional and inspirational speaking. He has authored seventeen books.

    Eligibility criteria

    • The competition is open to all students pursuing an engineering degree in India (B.E. / B. Tech. 3rd/4th Year).
    • All you need is a passion for engineering and creativity that reflects in your project.
    • Students graduating in the years 2023 and 2024 are encouraged to participate with no restriction in terms of engineering disciplines.

    and an all-expenses paid foreign trip to an engineering facility

    Selection Process – 

    Stage 1 – Registration

    Team to complete their registration by submitting an abstract. A panel of experts will review each team’s submissions after qualifying the plagiarism checks. Based on the quality of the abstracts, top 30 projects will be shortlisted.

    Stage 2 – POC / Prototype Presentation (Virtual)

    The top 30 teams will present their prototype / PoC to a panel virtually. Out of these top 30 teams, 10 teams will be shortlisted for the Grand finale.

    Stage 3 – Grand Finale

    In the grand finale, each team will have to make a presentation after their video is played to the panel, followed by a Q&A session. Based on the presentation, video and overall technical content, the top 3 teams will be selected by the panel of experts.
